David Rogers Memorial Park

Built as the first LaGrange County Park, David Rogers Memorial Park honors the memory of this pioneering doctor of northern Indiana. Don't miss preview day before the auction to catch a good glimpse of the quilts going on sale the next day. After the auction, enjoy buggy and sleigh rides nearby the auction center. The sales are located close to Howe.

Hostetler's Hudson Auto Museum

Home to the largest collection of Hudson automobiles in the world, Hostetler's Hudson Auto Museum is one of northern Indiana's top attractions. Explore this priceless collection, which features models from the 1900's to the 1950's. Serious automobile enthusiasts will recognize the Hudson, Essex, Terraplane, Railton, and Dover brands.

Take a self-guided tour or enjoy a group tour. The museum near Howe offers special rates for groups of 12 or more. The museum is open from April through December and is closed during the winter season. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Maple Wood Nature Center

The best of both worlds converge on this gorgeous, scenic park nestled in Northern Indiana between the Snow and James lakes. Pokagon State Park is located near the state’s border with Michigan near the town of Howe. Named after the Native Americans who inhabited the lands near Pokagon many years ago, the park is well conserved in its natural beauty for visitors to enjoy the lands where the Potawatomi tribe lived.

From horseback rides to paddle boarding to a picnic at sunset, Pokagon State Park offers year round enjoyment.

Shipshewana Auction & Flea Market

The largest flea market in the Midwest, the Shipshewana Auction & Flea Market is located in northern Indiana – about 20 minutes west of Howe. Set in the thick of Amish Country, the Shipshewana Flea Market encompasses over 900 vendors.

Shipshewana Flea Market is held Tuesdays and Wednesdays from May through October, while the Shipshewana Auction is a hotbed for livestock and antique sales. Don’t miss the 31,000-square-foot Antique Gallery, stop by the LaGrange County Visitor’s Center, enjoy the Saturday Farmer’s Market from April to October, or grab lunch at Auction Restaurant.

The Howe School

Established in 1884, the Howe School – commonly referred to as the Howe Military School – is a historic and private college preparatory. Located in northern Indiana along Interstate 80, the Howe School is set in western Howe on a 100-acre campus.

One of only 28 remaining U.S. military schools, the Howe Schools features campus tours to prospective students and parents. The Howe School also features an impressive Cadet Wildcats athletics programs, and offers plenty of extra-curricular activities.
