Set along Interstate 80/90, the historic city of Howe is located in northern Indiana in LaGrange County. Established in 1834, Howe features plenty of sites found on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Samuel P. Wlliams House, the Lima Township School, and the Star Milling & Electric Company Historic District.
Howe is best known as the home of the historic Howe School – one of 28 remaining military schools in the U.S. The Howe Military School features campus tours and the John Badlam Howe Mansion – also listed on the register.
Just 20 minutes west of Howe, the Shipshewana Auction & Flea Market – the Midwest's largest flea market – welcomes visitors from May through October. Encompassing over 900 vendors, the Shipshewana Flea Market features livestock and antique sales, the LaGrange County Visitor’s Center, and the onsite Auction Restaurant.
