Valparaiso University's Chapel of the Resurrection
Meaning Valley of Paradise, Valparaiso is the county seat of Porter County in northern Indiana. Just south of Lake Michigan and Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, V-town is situated at the junctions of US Route 30, State Road 2, and State Road 49.
An outdoor haven, Valparaiso offers swimming, fishing, and hiking at Rogers-Lakewood Park, plus ball fields, courts, and a playground at Bicentennial Park. Visitors seeking a little culture can appreciate the classic architecture found in the historic Banta Neighborhood, as well as the Taltree Arboretum & Gardens.
V-town is also home to Valparaiso University – a private institute established in 1859. Valpo features games with the Valparaiso Crusaders, Brauer Museum of Art, and the iconic Chapel of the Resurrection.
